Terms of use & health disclaimer v2026-10-23.2
Please read all of this. It explains what Shifra Health is and isn't, how your health
information is handled, and limits on our responsibility. By creating an account or using Shifra Health you
agree to it.
1. What Shifra Health is. Shifra Health ("Shifra", "we", "us") is a personal health-tracking and
wellness tool. It helps you record things like supplements, medications, water, food, sleep, mood, symptoms,
exercise, wearable data and lab values, sends reminders, and offers general wellness suggestions through an
AI assistant by web chat, phone calls, voicemail, email and (when available) text messages.
2. Not medical care. No doctor-patient relationship. Shifra is not a healthcare provider, pharmacy,
clinic, laboratory or emergency service, and it is not a medical device. Nothing in Shifra (replies, calls,
documents, reports, summaries, reminders, price checks or anything else) is medical advice, a diagnosis,
treatment, or a prescription, and using Shifra does not create a doctor-patient, pharmacist-patient,
therapist-client or any other professional relationship. The people who run Shifra are not your medical
providers. Shifra does not monitor you and nobody is watching your data in real time.
3. Suggestions only. Always check with a professional. Anything Shifra says is a general suggestion
about what people in similar situations commonly consider, not a recommendation for you. Before you start,
stop, combine or change any supplement, medication, dose, diet, fast, exercise plan or treatment, or act on a
symptom or lab result, confirm with your own doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional that it's
right for your specific situation, including your allergies, conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding status,
age and other medications. Check every product label and ingredient for allergens. Never ignore professional
advice or delay getting care because of something Shifra said or didn't say.
4. Emergencies. Shifra is not for emergencies. If you think you or someone else may be having a
medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. For a mental health or suicidal
crisis, call or text 988 (US and Canada). Don't wait for, or rely on, a reply, call, reminder or message from
Shifra.
5. Supplements and products. Statements about dietary supplements have not been evaluated by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration or Health Canada and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any
disease. Mentioning a product, brand, store or price is not an endorsement. Prices, availability and product
details come from third-party sources, change often and may be wrong; check them with the seller before
buying. We don't sell products and aren't responsible for purchases you make.
6. Artificial intelligence. Shifra's assistant is AI, not a person. Its replies, phone voice,
voicemails, summaries, meal estimates, lab readings, reports and documents are generated automatically and
can be incomplete, outdated, misheard, misread or simply wrong, including information about doses,
interactions and symptoms. Phone calls and voicemails from Shifra use an AI-generated voice. Treat everything
as a starting point to verify, not a fact.
7. Features have limits. You agree not to rely on Shifra for anything where a failure could cause
harm:
- Reminders, calls and messages can arrive late, fail, go to voicemail or email instead, or not
arrive at all (for example during quiet hours, outages, phone carrier problems, or after you opt out). Don't
rely on Shifra for time-critical or essential medications; use a dedicated alarm and your pharmacist's
guidance.
- Lab values read from photos or files can be misread. Always compare them with your original report.
Recreated "verified" PDFs are copies you checked, not official lab records.
- Meal, calorie and nutrient numbers are rough estimates.
- Wearable and device data (Apple Health, WHOOP and others) may be incomplete or inaccurate.
- Doctor summaries, documents and weekly reports are personal notes, not medical records.
- Interaction checks are not complete or guaranteed; confirm with your pharmacist.
- Usage limits: the assistant may pause after a daily limit; reminders keep working.
8. Calls, voicemail, texts and email: your consent. If you allow calls (and texts, when available),
you agree that Shifra may call, leave voicemails and send messages to the phone number on your account,
including automated, prerecorded and AI-voiced calls and messages, for reminders, check-ins, replies and
account notices, at the frequency you choose. Consent is not a condition of using the rest of Shifra.
Message and data rates may apply. You can turn calls and texts off in Settings at any time, and for texts
reply STOP to opt out and START to opt back in. Voicemails may be heard by anyone with access to your phone or
voicemail. You confirm the phone number is yours and that you'll update it if it changes; tell us right away
if you lose your phone. Sign-in emails can't be turned off; reminder and notification emails can.
9. Call transcription. Calls with the assistant are transcribed by automated systems, and the
transcript and a summary are saved to your account so the assistant can remember them. By calling or
answering, you consent to this. If anyone else joins or speaks on a call, you're responsible for telling them
and getting any consent the law requires where they are.
10. Your health information and privacy.
- What we collect: what you type, say, upload or connect: account details (name, email, phone,
time zone, ZIP), health information (for example supplements, medications, symptoms, mood, sleep, food,
water, labs, conditions, allergies, goals, wearable data), chats, call transcripts, files and photos, saved
logins (encrypted), and basic technical data needed to keep the service secure (like sign-in devices and IP
addresses).
- How we use it: only to provide Shifra to you: tracking, reminders, calls, the assistant's
memory, summaries and reports, safety checks, security and fixing problems.
- What we never do: we don't sell your personal or health information, use it for advertising,
or share it with data brokers.
- Service providers: to work, your information is processed by providers acting on our behalf:
an AI model provider, a cloud hosting provider (data stored in the United States), a phone and voice
provider, a voice-generation provider, and an email provider. You can ask for the current list.
- Not HIPAA: Shifra is a consumer app, not a HIPAA-covered entity, so HIPAA does not apply to the
information you give it. We still protect it with encryption in transit, encrypted storage and access
controls, but no system is perfectly secure.
- Legal requests: we may disclose information if required by law, to protect someone's safety, or to
defend our legal rights.
- Your choices and rights: you can see and edit your information in the app, download what you've
uploaded, withdraw consent, and delete files or your whole account at any time. Deleted files stay in
"Recently deleted" for 30 days so you can restore them, and the assistant can't read them during that time.
Deleting your account permanently erases your account and data from our systems. Some limited records may
remain with our service providers (such as call and email delivery logs) under their own retention rules.
Depending on where you live (for example California, Washington, Nevada, other US states, or Canada,
including Quebec), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your
information, or to withdraw consent to collecting consumer health data; contact us to use them. We won't
treat you differently for using them.
- Consumer health data consent: by agreeing, you consent to Shifra collecting, using and storing your
consumer health data for the purposes above. You can withdraw this consent by deleting your account.
- Children: Shifra is only for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from
children. Don't enter information about a child.
11. Saved logins and actions on other websites. If you save logins (for example a patient portal or
pharmacy account), they're encrypted and the assistant can't see the passwords. The assistant asks for your
approval before using one. You're responsible for approving actions, and for anything done on third-party
sites, including bookings, cancellations and purchases. Those sites' terms apply.
12. Community (if offered). You may only share everyday activity like steps, sleep, workouts and
photos of food or activities, never lab results, documents, diagnoses, medications or anyone's private or
medical information. Posts are checked automatically and may be blocked or removed, and accounts may be
suspended, at our discretion. You keep ownership of what you post and give us permission to store and show it
to the people you choose. You're responsible for what you share, and you share it at your own risk.
13. Acceptable use. Use Shifra only for your own personal health tracking and only as the law allows.
Don't misuse the phone line or messaging, harass anyone, upload anything illegal or that you don't have the
right to share, impersonate others, try to break, overload, copy, scrape or reverse-engineer the service,
get around usage limits or safety checks, or try to get the assistant to act outside health and wellness.
Keep your password, devices and sign-in links private; you're responsible for activity on your account.
14. Eligibility and accounts. You must be at least 18, live in the United States or Canada, and
provide accurate information. One account per person and per phone number. We may refuse, suspend or close
accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
15. Third parties. Shifra connects to services we don't control (wearables, retailers, pharmacies,
websites in search results, phone carriers). We aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, availability
or practices.
16. Fees. Shifra is currently offered without charge. If we introduce paid features, we'll tell you
the price before you're charged anything.
17. Ownership. Shifra's software, design and content belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership
of your information and give us the limited permission needed to run the service for you.
18. Changes and ending. We may change or stop features, and update these terms. If we make an
important change, we'll ask you to agree again before you keep using Shifra. You can stop using Shifra and
delete your account at any time.
19. No warranties. To the fullest extent the law allows, Shifra is provided "as is" and "as
available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a
particular purpose, non-infringement, or that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
20. Limits on our liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, Shifra and its owners, operators,
employees and providers aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages,
or for any injury, illness, health outcome, missed or late reminder, decision you make, or loss of data,
arising from or related to Shifra, even if we were told it was possible. Our total liability for any claim is
limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places don't
allow certain limits, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can't be
limited by law.
21. Your responsibility to us. To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our losses and
costs from claims caused by your misuse of Shifra, your content, or your breaking these terms or the law.
22. Disputes. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to fix it informally within
60 days. If you live in the United States, any remaining dispute will be resolved by binding individual
arbitration rather than in court, except that either side may use small-claims court, and you and we each
give up the right to a jury trial and to bring or join a class or representative action. You can opt out of
arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms. If you live in Canada, or anywhere
this section isn't allowed, it applies only as far as your local law permits, and you keep any rights your
consumer protection laws give you.
23. General. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Shifra. They're governed by
the laws of the jurisdiction where Shifra's operating company is organized, except where your local consumer
law says otherwise. If any part can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part isn't a
waiver. We may transfer these terms if Shifra is sold or reorganized; you may not transfer yours.
24. Contact. Questions, privacy requests or arbitration opt-outs: support@shifrahealth.com.
End of terms.
